What is recorded here

Located on the level landscape of the low-lying and narrow part (L c. 4.5km NE-SW; Wth c. 600m-1.5km NW-SE) of Hook peninsula. The site of St. Dubhán’s church and the parish church of Hook (WX054-009001-) is within a subrectangular graveyard (dims c. 40m NE-SW; c. 40m NW-SE) defined by earthen banks with external stone-facing on all sides except the SE where a masonry wall with an internal bank borders a public road. The cross-inscribed slab (WX054-009003-) and the cross from St. Brecaun's church (WX054-003002-) are within the graveyard. Archaeological testing (04E1298) in two long trenches (L c. 100m) just to the N of the graveyard failed to produce any related material (Noonan 2004; excavations.ie 2007:1942).
