What is recorded here

Kilnacally Burial Ground is a disused children's grave field in County Cork, Ireland. The ordinary grass and quiet stones suggest a place where young lives ended before records or markers could be set. It may have served a small parish, a travelling family, or a forgotten lane, but the absence of proof preserves the shape of the loss.
Marked 'Kilnacally Burial Ground' on OS 6-inch map (1842). In rough grazing. Irregular area (L 25m; Wth 23m) enclosed by dry-stone wall. No grave markers noted. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
