Bullaun stone (present location) in Drummin (ballinacor North By.)

This stone was moved to its present location from the church (WI018-001----) at Ashtown. it consists of a fine grained granite boulder (0.77m x 0.70m and 0.24m high). It contains a slightly oval, bowl-shaped bullaun (0.31m x 0.35m and 0.14m deep) (pers. comm. C. Corlett). Compiled by: Paul Walsh Date of upload: 30 October 2012

Likely dating to the early Christian period (5th–9th century AD), bullaun stones were often associated with monastic sites and may have been used for ritual purposes, such as holding holy water or as part of ecclesiastical ceremonies.
