What is recorded here

Incorporated into the S side of the W graveyard (TS069-062001-) wall enclosing a medieval church (TS069-062----). The bullaun is at the S entrance into the graveyard. The conglomerate boulder (D 0.48m; Wth 0.33m) has been split vertically and has a circular hollow (diam. 0.21m; D 0.075m) on its upper surface. Probably dates to the early Christian period, associated with ritual or ecclesiastical use, often linked to pilgrimages or healing practices. Bullaun stones were traditionally used for hollowing out to hold relics or as part of monastic sites.
