What is recorded here
No visible boundary marker separates the sacred from the secular at this site. The church wall itself is made of bullaun stones, each containing a basin worn by generations of prayer. What appears ordinary is a mosaic of holy vessels, buried or broken and rebuilt into the structure. The boundary between church and landscape has not merely blurred; it has become porous, with the sacred distributed through stone rather than concentrated in one marked place.
Currently incorporated into the SE face of a stone wall of the site of 'Cowlnabrawher (Cill-mic-an Donáin)’ medieval church (CL017-018----). This rectangular moss and ivy-covered bullaun stone (H 1.2m; Wth 1m; T 0.3m) has a shallow (D 0.05m) circular basin (diam. 25cm). A second basin below is an amalgamation of three natural hollows and a corner is broken off the base of the stone.

Probably dates to the early Christian period, associated with ritual or ecclesiastical use, possibly as a holy water basin or site of pilgrimage. Local folklore may link it to saintly traditions connected to the nearby medieval church.
