Situated in undulating pasture, on the S side of the Athlone-Mullingar railway line, with very good views to S. Precise location is depicted on the OS Fair Plan map within the E side of a children's burial ground (WM030-087----). According to O’Donovan (OSNB 1837 No. 2, 13), the burial ground ‘contains a very remarkable stone bearing the supposed impression of St Patrick’s knees’. Monument described in 1979 as being located within graveyard (WM030-087----) according to local information, although there are no surface remains visible.
