Bullaun stone in Cill Mhuirbhigh

Immediately to the E of a clochan (GA110-063001-). This broken fragment (0.46m by 0.42m) of a granite bullaun stone, with a shallow basin (L 0.28m; Wth 0.24m; D 0.06m), lies immediately to the E of a clochan (GA110-063001-). Kinahan (1869, 28) suggested that it may have been moved from 'Temple-an-chealhrairaluinn' (see GA110-086002-). Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 24 April 2018

This bullaun stone fragment is likely from the early Christian period (5th–9th centuries AD) and may have been used for ritual or practical purposes such as preparing holy water or as a pilgrim site.
