What is recorded here

One chamber holds two stones, one on each side of the door, as if prayer needed a witness in both directions. The bowl is not centred, but set aside like a seat saved for someone expected. That much is written in the shape itself. A church built around listening would keep one stone for speech and one for silence, placing them where neither could be forgotten.

This granite bullaun stone (L 0.56m; Wth 0.33-0.47m) is just inside the doorway of Teaghlach Éinne (GA119-020001-), close to the N wall. It is roughly trapezoidal in shape. Placed off-centre on its flat upper surface is an oval hollowed bowl (L 0.41m; Wth 0.31m; D 0.09m).
