Bullaun stone in Ballylannan

There is a small bullaun stone (dims 0.51m x 0.35m; H 0.23m) with a single large basin (dims c. 0.4m x 0.2m; D 8cm) on a masonry pedistal in the graveyard of Ballylannan church (WX045-013001-). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 22 July, 2013

Likely dating to the early Christian period, the bullaun stone may have been used for ritual purification or as a font for holy water. Such stones are often associated with local saints and may have had both religious and folkloric significance in the community.
