Single-span limestone railway bridge, built c. 1862, with rusticated walls with buttresses to north and south elevations and square-plan rusticated piers having carved caps and plinths to parapet walls. Cut copings to parapet walls. Cast-iron girders to underside of arch.

This bridge, built by the Great Southern Rail Company, is well designed and finely executed, with a strong functional aesthetic. The line was opened in 1862 by the CLDR (the Cork Limerick Direct Railway). The rusticated masonry is typical of such structures and is indicative of nineteenth century craftsmanship.
