Boundary stone in Castlehyde East

On N side of Fermoy-Mallow road, set into wall. Stone (0.4m x 0.15m; H 1.1m) inscribed 'BOUNDARY BETWEEN THE BARONIES OF FERMOY AND CONDONS TOWNLAND OF CLOUGH PARISH OF LITTER'. Stone stands in barony of Condons and Clangibbon c. 500m E of barony boundary; Fermoy barony to W; Litter parish is in Fermoy barony, E edge defined by barony boundary; no townland named Clough on OS 6-inch maps. This may, therefore, not be original location of stone. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
