Cappaghavuckee holds a flat-topped slab resting above four support stones on a narrow rocky ledge at the southern foot of Holly Hill. The burial faces Bear Haven, placing the dead between the hill’s shadow and the open water. It is not a hidden pit but a visible stone room, built to keep the departed company with the tide and sky.
