BIVALLATE RATH & possible Man-made underground passage in Drumhirk

BIVALLATE RATH & possible Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Mysterious underground chamber beneath ancient fort, its entrance hidden under grass and memory. The fort has two rings, a rare design that suggested strength or pride. Its chamber may have stored grain, hidden people or held beliefs too deep for ordinary life. The land keeps both possibilities alive, waiting for someone patient enough to listen.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as BIVALLATE RATH & possible Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
