What is recorded here
Binnion is a 250-metre hill on the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal. Mountaineering Ireland's place-name guide gives Cnoc an Bhinnín as its Irish name, meaning 'hill of the little peak'. The guide suggests the simpler An Binnín may have been the hill's earlier name, with Cnoc an Bhinnín used to distinguish it from the townland also called Binnion. This map point marks the Inishowen hill, not the taller Slieve Binnian in County Down or a battle named after a similar place. The guide supplies no current path or access arrangement.
