Beinn Bhragair rises to approximately 500 metres and is part of the rugged landscape of the Outer Hebrides. Its name, meaning "Speckled Hill," may reflect its rocky or varied appearance, typical of the region's ancient Lewisian gneiss geology. As a local high point in a low-lying island chain, it contributes to the geographical and cultural identity of the area.
