Mountain of the lochan
Beinn an Lochain is a minor mountain in the Scottish Highlands, with a height of approximately 700 metres and a prominence of around 150 metres. Its name derives from the Gaelic for "Mountain of the lochan," referring to the small loch or pool typically found near its base. The hill is of local significance to hillwalkers and those interested in the Gaelic landscape of the region.
