What is recorded here
Entrance gates comprising rendered sweep walls with moulded render copings, square-profile inner and outer rendered piers with moulded rendered caps and ball finials, with decorative cast-iron double-leaf gates. Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge, built c.1820, inside gate to north, now disused, having hipped slate roof with rendered eaves course and render chimneystack, painted rendered walls with square-headed timber casement windows with painted stone sills and timber battened door.
This entrance and lodge form an interesting feature along the roadside, made more impressive by the decorative gates. The gate lodge, though in disrepair, retains its form and is typical of its era.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
