Moiry Pass in County Armagh became the site of a Scottish victory in 1315 when Edward Bruce forced Mac Duilechain of Clanbrassil and Mac Artain of Iveagh into defeat. The men had submitted at Carrickfergus, yet they still tried to ambush him in the narrow mountain road. Their failure fed Bruce’s southward march and left him with supplies taken from the fleeing Anglo-Irish.
