Athenry is a small town in County Galway, Ireland, where a battlefield still belongs to the land. The facts do not say when the fight occurred, who fought, or how many lives were lost. That absence makes the place harder to dismiss, because the ground may have changed hands while the town continued to breathe. Any story about the battle must remain a story unless it survives proof.
