In level pasture. visible as slight surface trace of raised (Wth c. 2m; H c. 0.2m) circular area (dims. c. 8m N-S; c. 8m E-W; H c. 0.35m) defined by scarp (Wth c. 0.2m; H c. 0.2m). Neolithic ring-barrow, c. 3000–2500 BCE; a type of burial monument associated with early farming communities in Britain and Ireland. Its slight fosse and raised central area suggest a ceremonial or funerary function, typical of the period’s landscape monuments.
