The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Situated on summit of shelf at E end of a ridge. Ploughed-down ring-barrow (overall diam. 25.3m), consisting of interior (diam. 8.5m) enclosed by fosse (Wth 4m) and external bank (Wth 4.9m, H 0.1m). Referred to by Stubbs (CLAJ 1911, 354) as a small 'rath'. (OS Memorandum 6353 B).

A ring-barrow, likely dating to the Early Bronze Age, associated with burial practices in the Irish lowlands. Its form reflects a local adaptation of broader Atlantic Bronze Age funerary traditions.
