Bowman (1934, 451) recorded levelled 'tumulus' on M. Angland's land; 'Surrounding fence, 2 ft. high. Diam. of same 60 feet...Diam. of mound 33 feet'. He also recorded depression in centre '7ft by 5ft by 1ft 6in deep'. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. A Neolithic ring-barrow; significant as a rare surviving example of a circular burial mound with a central depression, indicative of early funerary practices in the region.
