In wet ground, on N-facing slope. Roughly circular area (24m N-S; 20m E-W) enclosed by fosse (D 0.3m) NE->W; fosse disturbed elsewhere. N-S hollow in NW quadrant. Possibly levelled fort referred to by Bowman (1934, 450) in J. O'Callaghan's land. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. A ring-barrow, likely Bronze Age; its association with a possible early fort suggests a multifunctional landscape of burial and defence.
