Barrow

Barrow, ring-barrow

What is recorded here

A slightly domed, circular area (diam. 5m) enclosed by a shallow fosse with an external bank (overall diam. 13m). Possibly a ring-barrow, but could have been a military field-kitchen. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 10 June 2011
A ring-barrow, likely dating to the Early Medieval period; its significance lies in its possible funerary function and the rare preservation of encircling fosse and bank features in the Curragh region.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
