Barrow

In wet pasture, 260m S of Glenatrahaun Stream and the townland boundary with Ballynagally. A ring-barrow (LI024-064----) lies 50m to N and an enclosure (LI024-215----) is located abutting the ring-barrow to the E. The ring-barrow is not depicted on historic OSi maps, but is visible on OSi orthoimages taken 2005-12 or on Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 30.1; AP 4/3631) as a circular ring-barrow (ext. diam. c. 25m), the site is characterised by a central wide interior surrounded by a fosse (Wth 2m). The Bruff survey identified a central mound (Bruff 30.2) within the interior of the site. Recorded by ASI aerial photographic survey 23/08/2000 (ASIAP (132) 34.
