Barrack Bridge in Barna saves its carefully dressed stone for the arch underneath, leaving rougher stone up where people pass. The little tributary gets the good silver; everyone on the road can make do with a mug.
Single-arch sandstone road bridge, built c. 1810, with coursed rubble walls with roughly dressed copings to parapet walls. Dressed voussoirs to segmental-headed arches.
The simple form of this road bridge, which crosses a tributary of the Aherlow River, is enhanced by the textural variation created by the rubble stone walls and dressed voussoirs.
