Single-arch sandstone road bridge, built 1810, over River Awbeg. Coursed dressed stone elevations and rubble parapets, coursed dressed stone to piers flanking arches and to soffit, latter ending in quarter-round caps between arches and piers. Cut sandstone string course to north elevation. Cut sandstone voussoirs to segmental arches.

Bannagh Bridge is a well designed, finely executed bridge, which was clearly constructed by skilled craftsmen. It is built of fine quality materials. The rounded detail to the corner piers is an unusual feature. The ashlar masonry fits tightly together and was cut with a high degree of precision. The juxtaposition of ashlar limestone and rubble masonry forms an interesting textural contrast. The cut limestone piers and string course enliven this functional structure.
