What is recorded here
Marked faintly as a D-shaped feature (c. 35m N-S: c. 30m E-W) attached to the E side of the N-S road from Ballyvaghan to Black Head and described in italic lettering as 'Ballyvaghan Quay' on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated on the sea-shore, and undoubtedly served as a quay for Ballyvaghan before a SW-NE quay wall (L c. 120m) was built c. 20m to the NW.
