What is recorded here

Ruinous remains of detached three-bay three-storey gate lodge, dated 1826. Roofless. Rubble stone walls with cut stone blind ogee arches and circular moulded render panel. Pointed arch window openings with roughly dressed voussoirs and limestone sills. Rendered entrance piers with wrought-iron double leaf gates.
Curious tall ruin, said locally to be the remains of a mill, but having the appearance of a folly. The pointed arch windows and blind ogee arches enliven the rubble façade. Makes architectural contribution to the landscape.
