Ballybroder Castle stands in County Galway as a ruined tower house, its stones reduced to a low ridge among fields. The main chamber still holds a broad hearth and narrow stair holes, proving the building rose high enough to climb and defend. People may have lived there, watched the land, or fled it when violence came. What is certain is that the tower existed, was built for strength, and has spent centuries returning its stones to the earth.
