Aughrim New Graveyard is a cemetery in County Roscommon, Ireland. Perhaps the new graveyard still smells of turned earth because the old one was full. Maybe the living dragged stones and soil from somewhere forgotten to make room for more dead. Imagine a woman carrying a child on her back while men threw dirt into holes until the holes disappeared.
