What is recorded here
Arnaud-Michel d'Abbadie arrived in Dublin in 1815, the fourth child of a French exile who had fled revolution to trade Spanish wine. That displaced beginning shaped a life of movement, carrying him from Irish ports into Ethiopian mountains, where he learned languages, watched battles, and recorded what most Europeans never understood.
