What is recorded here

Two limestone arch stones lie in a Kildare farmyard, holding the ghost of Russellstown church after people stopped building there. They may have framed a doorway where babies were named in the surviving font, while the graveyard waited beside them for forgotten bodies. The church is gone, but its bones still mark the ground, proving that even erased places keep shaping the living world.

In a modern farmyard. On the site identified by the Athy Cemeteries Committee (athycemeteriescommittee@hotmail.com) as being that of Russellstown church (KD035-100----) and graveyard (KD035-100001-). A font (KD035-100003-) also survives at the site. Two matching limestone arch stones with chamfered edges (each: L 1.4m; Wth 0.21m; T 0.16m) presumably came from the levelled church.
