Galbally church lost its shape but kept its bones. Window jambs, mullions and a twisted column now stand among graves, perhaps marking the dead that the living forgot how to name. The church stopped being a church, yet it continued to divide inside from outside, to point upward, and to hold the shape of prayer.

Architectural fragments from Galbally church (LI049-086002-) reused possibly as grave-markers in Glabally graveyard (LI029-086003-). Described in the Urban Survey of Limerick (Bradley et. al. 1989, 131) as following; '"Window jambs, mullions, dressed stone and a column decorated with sugar barely twist are in use as gravemarkers in the graveyard'.
