Architectural fragment in Ballintine

Death and memory occupy Ballintine, where a graveyard holds a church site and five Early Christian cross-slabs. A chamfered limestone window sill-stone, half a metre long and twenty centimetres wide, still carries a mortice for a mullion and a bar-slot hole at one end. It may have belonged to a room where people prayed, watched the road or lived beside the buried dead.
