What is recorded here

Knockgour tilts east toward the rising sun, carrying a small arc of stones across its lower slope. Two uprights frame a recumbent stone, while a possible fourth marker watches from the west. The arrangement is slight enough to overlook, yet precise enough to suggest that someone shaped the hillside rather than merely claiming it.

In rough grazing on the lower E-facing slope of Knockgour. Two upright stones with recumbent stone in centre forms slight arc. Most northerly stone (H 0.7m; 0.75m x 0.35m) aligned NW-SE; recumbent stone (H 0.48m; 1.55m x 0.95m) aligned N-S, lies 1.95m to S; third stone (H 0.85m; 1.05m x 0.6m) aligned SSW-NNE, lies 1m SSW of last. Possible fourth standing stone (H 0.65m; 1m x 0.25m) 2.7m W of last stone. Few loose stones lying about. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
