Anne's Bridge

Single-arch limestone road bridge, built c. 1820, over River Dalua. Coursed rubble walls having vertical stone copings, and tooled stone string course above arch level. Segmental arch having tooled block-and-start voussoirs, string course to underside of each side of arch at impost level, coursed squared rubble walls to abutments and to walls continuing bridge to each side, with pillow stone courses to base. Rendered path under arch to west side.

This slightly hump-back bridge is a solidly constructed example of a nineteenth-century road bridge. It serves as a reminder of the quality of engineering and local craftsmen's skills in the mid-nineteenth century.
