A Captain William Slack came to Ballinamore in 1693 and developed an iron industry there, which may have lasted until 1747 (Meehan 1925, 414-4). He moved to Kiltubbrid taking with him an iron fire-back with the date 1699, the only surviving product of the iron works. The house was later called Annadale, but according to the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage the present house is a small Georgian mansion dating from c. 1760, for which see this web-page accessed on 13/01/2017: http://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?county=LE&name=&town=&townland=1037&type=quick&page=1
