Yr Esgair is a sea cliff composed of Silurian-age volcanic and sedimentary rocks, formed around 440–420 million years ago through volcanic activity and subsequent deposition in a marine environment. It is notable for its exposure of the Llanvirn Series, which provides insights into ancient volcanic and sedimentary processes in Wales.
