Ynys Piod is a sea cliff located in Gwynedd, composed primarily of Silurian greywacke and slate, formed around 440–420 million years ago through sedimentation and subsequent regional metamorphism. It is notable for its exposure of ancient volcanic and sedimentary rocks that are part of the Caledonian mountain-building event.
