Explorer Tom Williamsfield has an imaginary fan club of local sheep who follow it around the field, convinced it’s a very tall, very boring celebrity they need to protect from tourists. It’s just a wall, but it stands there with such confidence that you almost feel like you’re interrupting its daily walk. Bring a pen pal, they'll be jealous.
Explorer Tom Nouthill is where the whole parish argued about whether it should be called Nouthill or South Hill for decades. It’s just a farmhouse sitting there, unassigned in period but very assigned to being the subject of local debate. The farmstead adds to the confusion because it’s basically two things pretending to be one. Dare you to say hello to it out loud.
Explorer Tom Cranberry is doing the platform thing again, which is basically just a flat bit of earth acting like it’s a stage for an audience that isn’t there. It almost got famous once when a sheep stood on it for an hour, but nobody wrote it down. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re about to catch a train that left in 1920. Ideal spot for a dramatic phone call.
Explorer Tom Raeburnfoot in Dumfries and Galloway is an enclosure of unknown period that thinks it’s more famous than Raeburn itself, which is a bold move for a dirt ring. It’s got that 'period unknown' label which I’m pretty sure is just the archaeologists being lazy because they didn’t want to do the digging. The farm nearby has clearly been ignoring its historic neighbour for centuries, probably on purpose.
