Yann Goulet died in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland on 22 August 1999 at age 85. He fled France after leading the Bagadou Stourm militia and collaborating with Nazi Germany, escaping a death sentence by crossing into Ireland. He rebuilt his life as a sculptor, teaching at the Royal Hibernian Academy and carving republican memorials until his death in that coastal town.
