Semi-detached two-bay two-storey former lighthouse worker’s house, built 1896, now in use as private house. Recent extensions (north and east). Pitched slate roof with shared rendered chimneystacks, solar panels and replacement metal rainwater goods. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls with plinth. Square-headed openings with stone sills and replacement uPVC sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening with replacement timber glazed door and overlight. Flight of rubble stone and dressed granite steps to rear.

This worker’s house, constructed as part of a complex established for building works on Fastnet Lighthouse, retains its original form and character. It is an essential component of the Rock Island Point complex with a simple yet elegant plan and style. It makes a positive and pleasing architectural contribution to Rock Island and is a physical reminder of the extensive works involved in the construction of Fastnet Lighthouse. The flight of steps which leads to this pair is a fine feature of the site.
