Detached two-bay single-storey rubble stone crossing guard’s house, opened 1878. Renovated and extended, c.1930, comprising single-bay single-storey parallel range along rear (south-east) elevation with single-bay single-storey lean-to to projecting porch added to front. Decommissioned, 1967. Refenestrated, c.2000. Now in private residential use. Hipped (pyramidal) slate roof to original portion with red clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stack, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves. Pitched artificial slate roof to parallel range with clay ridge tiles, rendered coping, and no rainwater goods. Shallow lean-to felt roof to porch with no rainwater goods on timber eaves. Painted (limewashed) random rubble stone walls with painted rendered walls to porch. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, and replacement timber casement windows, c.2000. Square-headed door opening with tongue-and-groove timber panelled door. Road fronted with grass verge to front.

An appealing, small-scale house that is of primary importance for its associations with the introduction of the railway network in the locality by the Fishguard and Rosslare Railways and Harbours Company. Now in private residential use, the house retains some of its original form and character, and contributes to the visual appeal of the area.
