Woburn Abbey, founded in the 13th century by the de Warenne family, was later rebuilt in the 16th century by the 1st Earl of Bedford. It is a significant example of Tudor architecture and has been closely associated with the Russell family, Dukes of Bedford, playing an important role in the history of the English aristocracy and landscape gardening.
