Wistow Crags is a sea cliff composed primarily of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340 to 320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The crags are notable for their exposure of fossil-rich rock layers and their role in illustrating the geological history of the Cumberland coastline.
