According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 'Uppon these lands of Ballynakill there is ….a Windmill in Repayre' which in 1640 was under the proprietorship of 'Richard Butler of Ballynakill, Esqr. Irish Papist' (Simington 1934, vol.1, 15). A windmill is also indicated in this townland on the Down Survey (1655-6) map.
