William Budd, M.D., F.R.S. 1811‒80 physician and epidemiologist lived here 1860‒65
William Budd lived at this site from 1860 to 1865 and is credited with being one of the first to suggest that cholera is waterborne, a significant contribution to the field of epidemiology. His work helped shift public health approaches during the 19th century.
