This blue commemorative plaque records: Founded by Wilfrid Scawen Blunt and his wife in 1878. Crabbet Arabian Stud became world famous as the largest collection of pure-bred Arabian horses outside Arabia. The stud was sold in 1971, when building the M23 cut the Crabbet Estate in Two Recorded plaque organisation: Crawley Arts Council, Gatwick Worth Hotel.
Wilfrid Scawen Blunt and his wife, Anne Blunt, founded the Crabbet Arabian Stud in 1878; it became renowned worldwide for maintaining one of the largest collections of purebred Arabian horses outside Arabia.
