Whitechurch Bridge

Three-arch rubble limestone road bridge over river, c.1830. Random rubble stone walls with lime mortar, cut-stone triangular cut-waters to piers, and rubble stone coping to parapets. Series of three segmental arches with squared limestone voussoirs, and squared rubble stone soffits having render over. Sited spanning Finisk River with grass banks to river.

An elegantly-composed bridge forming an appealing landmark on the Finisk River. The construction in rubble stone serves to integrate the bridge into the surrounding landscape, while the civil engineering importance of the composition is identified by the arches, which have retained their original form and profile.
